Department of Veterans Affairs has already implemented requirement.
The White House announced on Wednesday that a vaccine mandate for all federal employees was on the table, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, largely driven by the delta variant of the disease. Following the announcement from the CDC that vaccinated and unvaccinated people should wear masks indoors in areas experiencing an increase in cases, masks were once again mandated for White House staff.
On Tuesday, President Biden alluded to the requirement saying that a mandate was “under consideration.” The Department of Veterans Affairs already requires all of its employees to be fully vaccinated in order to carry out their duties. In total there are about 4.2 million federal employees across the country.
While the Delta variant is more easily transmissible, data has not yet shown it to be more deadly.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the president’s administration as mandates for federal employees are considered.
- For the CDC and Director Walensky as health data are evaluated.
- For a continued weakening of the virus and its variants.
